1285
***Discontinued*** PCB Masking Tape
Discontinued 3M1285 is a transparent blue polyester film tape with a rubber adhesive which resists plating and etching bath chemicals. Roller pressure must be monitored to ensure clean, residue-free boards after tape removal. Air pressure controlled equipment can be set at 30 - 40 PSI. Non-air pressure controlled rollers should be set no closer than 1/2 the PC board thickness. Heat should not be used during tape lamination. The low stretch polyester film of 1285 tape is designed for machine and hand application. To obtain best performance, use this product within 12 months from date of manufacture and store under normal conditions of 60°F to 80°F and 50% relative humidity in the original carton.

It is essential, as with all pressure-sensitive tapes, that the surface to which the tape is applied be clean, dry and free of grease and oil.
Shelf life from date of manufacture is based on the product being stored at 70°F(21°C) / 50% relative humidity out of direct sunlight.
Specification compliance is dynamic and should only be used as a general guide. Always confirm that the tape you are interested in currently complies with all specification requirements. Please verify that the product number that you select is available in the proper size and color to meet your specification.
