**** 3M discontinued this item and replaced it with a solvent free product 401M. A 9.0mil. double coated rubber tape with 860 paper adhesive ideal for bonding a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials such as rubbers, metals, woods, glass, papers, paints and many plastics. This tape has also been recognized by the Technical Association for Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) for many years. Paper mills continue to utilize this tape for testing the internal strength (Z-Directional Tensile Test) of thier papers. Product 401 is not recommended for direct exposure to sunlight or other sources of ultra violet light. 860 is a soft rubber adhesive system which offers high peel adhesion and excellent quick stick to many types of surfaces. This tape is also 9.0 mils. thick with the paper carrier being specially treated to enhance the clean removability characteristics. Parts can be joined before the milling, buffing and polishing process and then later removed cleanly. The extra thickness of this tape plays a key role in bonding rigid materials together that need additional gap filling abilities.
