Glass Cloth Electrical Tape
A 7 mil. tape consisting of thermosetting silicone adhesive and glass cloth backing primarily used for insulating, securing, splicing and reinforcing applications. 69 has been designed for used in 600volt dry location applications requiring both high mechanical strength and resistance to high temperatures. Ther thermosetting adhesive provides an increased bond, once applied in areas of high ambient temperatures. 69 tape also has a Class H 356°F temperature rating.

Adhesive Tape Applications
- Insulating electric and induction type furnace power supply leads
- Securing high-temperature, non-PSA insulation (such as asbestos and glass) in high-temperature areas
- Securing Scotch® 77 Fire Retardant Electric Arc Proofing Tape
- Replacing Scotch® 27 Tape in locations where a higher temperature tape is needed
- Splicing wire that is rated 302°F, 356°F, SF and SFF
- Reinsulating and repairing coils on mining machines
- Reinforcing insulation in electrical installation where heavy loads cause high heat and breakdown of original insulation (e.g. motor control exciter feeds)
- Splicing silicone-covered glass wire where splices require more abrasion resistance and mechanical strength than can be provided by silicone tapes
- Insulating Class H dry-type transformer leads
- Insulating splices made on SA type wire in heat treat areas

The physical properties listed are typical values and are not to be considered as specifications. Our suggestions for use are based on tests we believe to be reliable. However, the purchaser must carry out their own tests to determine the suitability of the product for their internal use. Information is given in good faith, but without warranty.
It is essential, as with all pressure-sensitive tapes, that the surface to which the tape is applied be clean, dry and free of grease and oil.
Shelf life from date of manufacture is based on the product being stored at 70°F(21°C) / 50% relative humidity out of direct sunlight.
Specification compliance is dynamic and should only be used as a general guide. Always confirm that the tape you are interested in currently complies with all specification requirements. Please verify that the product number that you select is available in the proper size and color to meet your specification.
