Discontinued 3M 1254 has a rubber resin adhesive with a polyester backing, primarily used for applications that require joining, sealing, repairing, holding, or reinforcing of difficult to hold materials such as flexible polyethylene cleanroom partitions, The rubber resin adhesive provides aggressive adhesion to many "difficult to stick to" surfaces, yet still provides short term clean removability from many of these surfaces. In addition, the polyester backing provides high strength combined with good abrasion, chemical and thermal resistance.
