3M
477
Transparent Vinyl Tape
3M477 is a 7.2 mil. conformable transparent vinyl backing with a rubber adhesive ideal for many heavy duty protection applications, as well as masking and splicing. Best results are attained when applied to a clean, dry surface at temperatures between 60°F to 80°F. Conformability and dead stretch properties make 477 tape ideal for taping or sealing many curved and irregular surfaces. The thick backing is ideal for application which require abrasion protection. While 477 tape resists most common solvents, care should be taken to avoid ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and esters that are found in lacquer thinners, degreasers, paint strippers, etc. which may cause the backing to swell or curl. Avoid using on highly plastized materials which may result in adhesive softening and potential adhesion failure. To obtain best tape performance, use within 12 months from date of manufacture and store under normal conditions of 60°F to 80°F and 40% to 60% relative humidity in the original carton.
