Polyethylene Splicing & Sealing Tape

3M480 is a 5.1 mil. transparent polyethylene backing with a long aging transparent acrylic adhesive used for splicing polyethylene sheeting, as well as many miscellaneous protecting and sealing. Polyethylene backing provides good chemical and solvent resistance. Extremely conformable for wrapping, patching and for used on compound curves. Good abrasion resistance. Remains flexible to -20°F. Prolonged exposure above 170°F and hot caustics may cause softening of backing and weaken bond of adhesive to backing. Best results are attained when applied to a clean, dry surface at temperatures between 60°F to 80°F. To obtain best tape performance, use within 12 months from date of manufacture and store under normal conditions of 60°F to 80°F and 40% to 60% relative humidity in original carton.
