Case Study - Improving Efficiency through Small Changes
Customer Need
A point-of-purchase display manufacturer was looking to increase the speed in which its finishing department was applying tape, while the end user was looking for a quicker way to assemble the signs in the field. They had currently been using a double-sided acrylic film.
The Budnick Solution
We recommended that the customer switch to a ¾’’ wide roll with an extended liner on each side of the adhesive. However, along with the ¾’’ rolls would come a 10% price increase. We assumed there would be resistance from the customer.
Enhanced Productivity
There was skepticism within the customer’s purchasing department. They did not believe that an increase in production could justify the increase in price. However, after seeing their Budnick sales representative demonstrate the easy removability of the extended liner, they understood the vast improvements. This product is now on spec in a major national home improvement chain and required on all of their products.
