Budnick Converting, Inc., headquartered in Columbia, IL (in the St. Louis, MO metropolitan area), is a privately held and female owned corporation. POSITION PURPOSE:  We are seeking a Web Developer who will be responsible for full life-cycle development and technical management of both internal and externally facing websites and eCommerce solutions.  This role is best filled by a technical, creative and energetic individual that will be responsible for the development and design of our current and future technology stack for web applications and web sites. The ideal candidate will be able to conceptualize and design cutting-edge internal and external web solutions as well as possess the technical ability to turn those concepts into fully functioning web sites utilizing IT standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, builds, implementation, testing and deployment.
  2. Serve as a strong individual contributor, while often working within teams and collaborating with others across departments.
  3. Executes assignments with the use of back-end development to formulate more efficient processes, solve problems and create a more seamless experience for users.
  4. Execute front-end web applications, scripts and programming languages focusing on efficiency, user experience and process improvements.
  5. Use of RESTful application programming interface to exchange information securely. We use Epicor as our ERP system.
  6. Have experience that can elevate the skills of the team through collaboration and mentorship.
  7. Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that meet business requirements.
  8. Have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  9. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in software development.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform duties safely and maintain a high level of safety
  2. In a timely manner, alert the IT Manager to conditions that create delays or affect quality, and assist with changes needed to meet established
  3. Follow all operation standards, department policies and company directives and assist with other projects and tasks as assigned by

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:  Back-end strong foundation in C# programming and experience with the .NET framework.  Database experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.  Expert knowledge of front-end web development and underlying technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript framework (ie: jQuery, React, Angular).  Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.  Interpersonal and communication skills as well as analytical and conceptual thinking skills required.  Good organization, planning, time management and documentation skills required. 

Ability:  Conduct business in a professional, positive and courteous manner.  Ability to troubleshoot system problems and implement solutions without being confrontational.  

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Experience:  4+ years of professional web development related experience. 

Quantitative Data:  Office Environment.  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and computer printer.  This position requires frequent communication with other employees; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Hours:  8:00am – 4:30pm, M-F, In-person, Hybrid or Remote position.  Would prefer candidate lives with the St. Louis Metropolitan area to come to office as needed.

FLSA Class:  Exempt

Reports To:  IT Manager

Pay:  $70,000 - $90,000 / year

BENEFITS:  We offer a full benefit package including the following that are paid 100% by the company:  vacation, holidays, $25,000 of life insurance and short term and long term disability benefits.  We also offer medical (premium cost shared with the company), dental & vision insurance and a 401K retirement plan with a company match of 25% of the 1st 6% the employee contributes.
